Their long necks and large black, liquid-filled eyes give them a wonderful and gracefully stoic look. Evolving over the centuries in the Andes Mountains, they produce fiber that is lighter than cashmere, more durable and warmer than wool, but without the "itch." And, because it lacks lanolin, it is hypoallergenic. Alpaca is a natural water repellent and an incredible insulator.
